I discovered belatedly that if you're not super familiar with the food sold by this restaurant or the cultural nuances, you may have some slight issues navigating. The Good: the food was excellent!! The charcoal grilled goat will be in my memory forever! The Rice Jollof and the beef soup(stew) were also excellent! What I would love to see: My server was very pleasant and did a good job of taking me through the different items on the menu however he didn't advise me that the the goat would take extra time to prepare. When I do return I'll definitely call in my order and grab it to go. The Bisap recipe was also quite special

We had never tried African food and thought we would try gisafuriya. What an awesome flavourful stew, with just the perfect amount of spice. We ordered the small portion and have enough to feed two people another meal or two. The girls were so patient with us describing the dishes we inquired about and very accommodating. We are just passing through Ottawa, but if we lived near by this would be a regular stop for us. Thank you

I ordered the beef tongue and jallof rice and it was amazing! The beef tongue was perfectly grilled on charcoal and had a great juicy flavour that sunk into the rice. The side salad helped balance the meal. The reason I didn't give 5 stars is because of the prices. 1 skewer of beef is $20... for just the skewer. And the rice you see in my photo? $10! So $30 + tax and tip for 1 skewer and a scoop of rice? Not practical for most people. I very highly suggest creating affordable combos to encourage people stopping by looking for lunch specials.
